FAQ

If you couldn't find what you needed on the site, maybe you'll find it here. If not, contact me.

Here is a list of questions I am often asked, along with some key points made in other areas of the site.

DO YOU TEACH GCSE OR OTHER LEVELS OR SUBJECTS?

For the moment I am only offering A-Level Maths and Further Maths.

See the 'What I Offer' page for the full list.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

Prices per hour:

  • one-one tuition: £55

  • groups of two: £45 each

  • groups of three: £40 each

  • groups of four: £35 each

Sessions are booked in batches of 5 or 10.

See the 'Pricing' page for more details

HOW LONG IS A LESSON?

The usual length of a lesson is 1 hour but you can request shorter or longer lessons if you prefer.

HOW DO I BOOK A LESSON?

Write me an email or fill in the 'Contact Me' form.

See the 'Contact' page

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL A LESSON?

Send me an email          to cancel a lesson, but please make sure you give plenty of notice - Anything before 2100 on the evening before and you will receive a full refund, anything later than this will be charged at the full rate as if the lesson went ahead.

HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY FOR A LESSON?

Payment for a lesson should be made by 2100 on the evening before the lesson. You can pay via BACS or Paypal. If the payment is not made by this time, then the lesson will be cancelled. More information will be given when you book the lesson.

I NEED AN 'A', CAN YOU GET ME AN 'A'?

I'd love to be able to say yes, but unfortunately, only you can get yourself any particular grade. I can teach you all you need to know and give you the very best preparation for sitting the exam, but when the day of the exam comes it is entirely down to you and I can't guarantee how well you will perform.

DOES A PARENT NEED TO BE PRESENT DURING A LESSON?

Not unless the student is under 16. Then I would like a parent to be present for the first lesson, but after that it is not necessary.

WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO GIVE LESSONS?

I am available to teach from Saturday to Wednesday inclusive. All day during the weekends and Tuesdays, and from 3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

WHAT SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE WILL I NEED?

The minimum you will need is a moderately fast internet connection, a computer and a web browser. You will also need a Microsoft account so that you can access Teams.

For the best experience you should download the 'Teams' app and some sort of pen and touch screen would enhance the experience further, but these are not essential.

See the 'Online Lessons' page for further details
